SOD INSTALLATION

WHEN INSTALLING SOD, WE WILL DO THE FOLLOWING

Whether you have a new construction build that needs an entire yard or you just need to replace that grass that never really grew we can help you out. Allow us to come out and discuss your needs.

  1. We will carefully prepare the area for the placement of new sod by removing rock and clumps by hand raking the area.
  2. We recommend adding topsoil to allow the sod roots a rich environment to grow.
  3. The sod is hand place and trimmed as needed
  4. Finally, it is rolled with a sod roller to ensure the contact of the sod to the soil.

There are many varieties of sod and we will help you choose the one best for the sun and/or shade in the surrounding area. The primary sods we use are:

EMERALD ZOYSIA

Sod for full sun or partial shade, it is drought tolerant but does not like standing water. Distinctive emerald green color, finest leaf texture, low growth habit and can be rotary or reel mowed.

ZEON ZOYSIA

Sod is shade tolerant but is widely adaptable to full sun or moderate shade. Dark green blade of medium or fine texture. Tolerant of extreme heat and cold, drought tolerant and insect and disease resistant.

ZENITH ZOYSIA

Sod is shade tolerant but is widely adaptable to full sun or moderate shade. Dark green blade of medium texture. Tolerant of extreme heat and cold and drought tolerant. Great replacement for tall fescue.

BERMUDA SOD

Sod performs best in full sun. Beautiful green colored blades which is retained under stress. High turf density and strength with quick recovery from wear.

TIF TUF BERMUDA

Fine textured, bright green turf with some shade tolerance. Superior to Bermuda for drought tolerance requiring approximately 28% less water that other turf grasses. Best resistance to wear and tear and fast recovery. Quicker spring green up and better green color retention into the fall.

FESCUE

A cool season turf grass that is very shade tolerant. Does not perform well in full sun. Dark green colored blades of a medium texture. Disadvantage is that fescue requires aeration and reseeding annually.

SEASONAL COLOR

ADD THAT PUNCH OF COLOR TO YOUR PROPERTY.

Add that punch of color to your property by adding seasonal color with flowers. We recommend adding flowers in the spring and fall and we only deal with the best rare plant seller in GA. When deciding upon the flowers to install, we take into consideration the surrounding environment, whether the bed is in shade or full sun. Seasonal color can be added with annuals which have to be replanted every year or perennials that should come back year after year.

PINE STRAW + MULCH

PINE STRAW AND MULCH ARE AN ESSENTIAL TOOL TO PREVENT WEEDS FROM OVERTAKING A LANDSCAPE BED.

Pine straw and mulch are an essential tool to prevent weeds from overtaking a landscape bed, allow the plants root to retain moisture and not dry out quickly and control erosion. It is important to refresh the pine straw or mulch once or twice a year to keep the beds looking fresh, control the ground temperature and water for the plants and trees.
