Benefits of Driveway Replacement

Explore our extensive range of driveway and sidewalk solutions, all customizable to fit any style and functional need.

Minimal Upkeep Required

Driveways require minimal ongoing maintenance on your end. New driveways can be easily taken care of and cleaned with a pressure washer, a general degreaser, or a spot cleaner, making it easy to keep your driveway elegant and sophisticated.

Durability

One of the main benefits of replacing a driveway is that it’s not a recurring process. Most homeowners when replacing their driveway, can have them last at a minimum, 30 years. Factors such as rain, precipitation, usage, and material can impact longevity, but with the proper upkeep and maintenance, your driveway can be a focal point in your home for years to come.

Aesthetically Appealing

Beauty and elegance will be the first and last thing people will see when arriving and leaving your home. Having a driveway with cracks and holes does not leave a positive lasting impression of you or your home. By replacing your driveway, your home can be transformed into a stunning masterpiece. Make your home look years younger with a strong and durable driveway.

Increase In Resale Value

Unless a potential buyer specifically wants a fixer-upper, the majority of prospective homeowners want a house that requires minimal to no repairs. Upgrading your hardscape from something that needs a little tender love and care to something luxurious and elegant can greatly increase, not just the aesthetic appeal of your home, but its value as well.

Planning the Project: Call for your free consultation to estimate prep time, as well as the estimate for your dream driveway.

Excavation and Preparation: This is part of the preparation process in which we mark the area, and dig away at any unwanted material.

Laying the Sub-Base: During this part of the process, we tend to add gravel to ensure proper drainage, as well as sand, to set the new layer in – leveling the patio as we go along.

Installation: Finally, we lay in your desired material. Whether it be asphalt, concrete, gravel, or pavers, your home will surely be the talk of the neighborhood.

When To Consider Sidewalk Replacement

It’s likely you don't spend much time thinking about your sidewalk long after purchasing your home until it’s time for repairs. While sidewalks are an often overlooked aspect of home-owning, they shouldn’t be neglected, as their deterioration can become a hazard for you and other people. Here are some telling signs your sidewalk is in need of repairs:

Various Potholes

An obvious sign your sidewalk needs replacing is the presence of potholes. Multiple potholes in your sidewalk can affect the look of your sidewalk, as well as collect water, which in turn can pose a threat of injury to an unaware passerby.

Cracks in the Concrete

There are two types of sidewalk cracking: spiderweb and alligator cracks, and both are sure signs that your sidewalk is in need of repair. Alligator cracks look like crocodile skin and typically occur due to heavy vehicle usage. Spiderweb cracks have the appearance of spider webs and have an impact point that can be found in the center. If any cracking of the sort is discovered, you know it’s time for a sidewalk repair.

Drainage Issues

When your sidewalk starts to direct water to the wrong play, such as your home's foundation, repairing it may be in your best interest. Improper drainage can impact your home more severely, causing damage to your foundation, which in turn would cost more money in the long run than a simple sidewalk repair.

Aged 20+ Years

We recommend that if your sidewalk is 20 years or older it should be repaired immediately, as most, if not all of these signifiers are likely present in your sidewalk already.

Driveway and Sideway Cost

Sidewalk: Sidewalk replacement cost can vary as there are many factors to take into consideration, such as sidewalk size and material.

Driveway: Driveway replacement costs vary more so than sidewalk replacement, as there is more material to choose from when it comes to customizing your dream driveway.

Remember, every job is unique and the size and depth of your driveway/sidewalk will ultimately determine the cost of your project. For an accurate estimate, get in contact to schedule your free consultation!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are the different types of paving materials available?

    • Asphalt
    • Concrete
    • Gravel
    • Pavers

  • Do I need a permit to install a driveway or sidewalk?

While not always necessary, oftentimes a permit can be required for any sort of construction. Permit requirements can vary depending on the rules and regulations of your local municipality. Most driveway repair jobs can be done without the need of a permit, but this changes once the repairs alter the sidewalk, curb or gutter, in which case the use of a permit is required. With that said, sidewalk repairs typically do require that one obtain a permit in order to carry out any repairs or remodeling. Due to sidewalk repair and building impending walking access, one is required to apply for a Right of Way Closure permit (ROW). While it’s always best to check with your local department of transportation, we understand that it can be a daunting and intimidating task. At B.Green Landscaping, we can help walk you through this process and obtain all the necessary permits to ensure your home looks how you want while complying with your local regulations.

  • How long does it take to install a driveway or sidewalk?

At B. Green Landscaping we understand that every client is different, therefore each driveway and sidewalk installation may have differing time-frames. For the average driveway, which tends to roughly be about 2,000 square feet, we generally give a five to seven-day window, from start to finish. The whole process involves two days of prep in which we take out the existing driveway, and prep base. Then we spend about two to three days installing the new driveway. Lastly, the last one to two days are spent clearing debris and leftover material.

  • What kind of maintenance do driveways and sidewalks require?

A benefit of driveway and sidewalk replacement is that aside from enhancing the aesthetic appeal of your home, it’s also easy to keep your driveway and sidewalk looking in tip-top shape. Keeping your home beautiful has never been easier. Minimal to little maintenance is needed on your end, as you only need to clean your driveway about two times a year. Having a power washer can make things easier but if not a hose and a stiff brush should do the trick. Similarly, sidewalks can easily be cleaned with those same tools, or with a general degreaser, or spot-cleaner. The thing you will need to watch out for is those pesky weeds, on the off chance that they grow in the cracks of your sidewalk. At B. Green Landscaping we offer HOA services that can make keeping your home in magnificent shape easier.
