Each chemical round is targeting specific issues that normally plague Georgia grasses:

  • Round 1: we apply pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicides to prevent grassy weeks and some broadleaf weeks. We add potassium to Bermuda and Zoysia applications to build roots. Rescue application includes nitrogen to promote top growth (January – February).
  • Round 2: More pre-emergent and post emergent herbicides are applied to knock-back existing weeds and prevent future growth. We treat for common weeds including: crabgrass, Poa annua (annual bluegrass), henbit, chickweed, nutsedges, spurge, dandelions, Bermuda oxalis and chamberbitter (March – April).
  • Round 3: We apply a granular, balanced fertilizer that provides the nutrients your lawn needs for growth and color. Iron is applied to Fescue lawns for color. We complete liquid spot treatments of post-emergent herbicides to knock back existing lawn weeks (March – April).
  • Round 4: More fertilizer is applied to promote a health, green lawn, as well as liquid post-emergent herbicides for weeds. Lime is applied to Fescue lawns to condition the soil and adjust the pH level (June – July).
  • Round 5: Lime is applied to Bermuda and Zoysia lawns to raise the pH and reduce the acidity for better growth. Fescue lawns prepped for aeration and over-seeding. Apply post-emergent herbicides for weeds, as needed (July-August).
  • Round 6: More fertilizer is applied to promote a health, green lawn, as well as liquid post-emergent herbicides for weeds (August).
  • Round 7: Apply pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicides with potassium to Bermuda and Zoysia to prepare for the winter. For Fescue apply a balance slow release fertilizer to promote root and top growth. Aeration and over-seeding is recommended for Fescue lawns and is available at as a separate service (September).
  • Round 8: More fertilizer is applied to promote a healthy, green lawn as well as liquid post-emergent herbicide for weeds (September – October).
